Hawthorne Cat is the authorized dealer for Caterpillar equipment and engines throughout San Diego, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan & American Samoa.

Hawthorne Cat conducts its operations through various divisions:

Machinery Division - Located in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), this is the corporate headquarters for all the Hawthorne divisions. In addition, it is home for sales, product support, parts, service, marketing, and finance personnel, who are the hub of Hawthorne's staff of over 450 employees worldwide. Our 4 locations here in Southern California comprise over 30 Acres and over 150,000 Square Feet of Shop and Office Space. Our Service Shops have over 42 Fully Loaded Service Bays. We have dozens of overheads cranes to include up to 10 tons of lifting capability and over 50,000 sp ft of Shop Space and 42 Service Bays. We are one of only a few service facilities that has an Engine Dynometer. We are one of the select Caterpillar Dealers that can tear down and rebuild engines and components from a core. Our state of the art facilities showcase metal lathes, a 30,000 ft/lbs torque wrench, line boring services, a stress relief machine, paint booths (up to our largest equipment), end mills, auto welders and the capability to re shape and re-skin moldboards, dozer blades and buckets. Our Rancho Bernardo facility has over an acre of land that is covered by 12” of concrete. These types of capabilities allow us to tackle any job and we consistently produce the highest quality work.

Power Systems Division - Provides sales, rentals and services the power generation, marine, on-highway trucking, and other engine-related markets. It has outstanding skills in building, rebuilding and packaging engines and power systems of all sizes from standby power to turnkey generators and cogeneration plants. Located in San Diego (Kearny Mesa), this division has branches in Hawaii and Guam.

Rental Service Division - Offers rental equipment to the construction and industrial market including the rental of heavy and compact equipment, generators, lighting, welders, compressors, dump trucks and more from Caterpillar and other allied brands. Hawaii Division - Located in Waipahu, Hawaii, this division provides sales, rentals, parts and service of Caterpillar machinery and power systems. It also represents Toro®, Club Car® and other allied brands to complement its product line. It serves various industries including: heavy and general construction; quarry and aggregate; paving; agriculture and landscaping; marine; engine and power generation. Eight branch facilities are located throughout the region on Oahu (Waipahu and Mapunapuna), Hawaii (Hilo and Kona), Maui, Kauai, Guam and Saipan.

Samoa Division - Located in Pago Pago, this division fills the marine and construction needs in American Samoa. This facility provides complete sales, parts, and service staff to the worldwide tuna fleet, the construction industry, power plants, and all aspects of the industrial markets.
